As more and more folks are using Sawmill lumber I figure I would post a photo of the new style of purlin cups. They were designed for dimensional lumber so the bottom of the cup is 1 1/2 inches. If your purlin is wider, like due to a knot, keep in mind the important part is that the tops of the purlins match so you do not get a seam in the metal.
